78 RPM STYLUS FOR VESTAX HANDY TRAX TURNTABLE
The Vestax Handy Trax turntable was fitted with a 78 RPM
stylus. A photo of the stylus replacement is supplied above.
The stylus features a 3.0 mil highly polished diamond for
long playing life and correct tracing of 78 RPM record
grooves. It offers minimal groove wear and accurate
rendition of voice and music. The color of the stylus
varies. Please verify and use this as a guide only since
the cartridge and stylus may have been changed through the
years.
To maintain the playback fidelity of your 78 RPM records
you really need to use a stylus designed for 78RPM records.
A very common misconception is that you can use a LP stylus
for playing 78 records. This is one quick and sure way to
damage the 78 record grooves. Moreover, the LP stylus is
much narrower than the 78 record groove hence the tip
will slide to the bottom of the groove where debris has
collected for many decades. This results in
extraordinarily high surface noise.
Do not order this stylus if it looks different from what you have. It will not fit if the original cartridge is missing or has been changed. Please contact us if you need assistance or prefer a new cartridge. If possible, provide us with the markings on the existing cartridge and stylus (look for the brand and model number). Photos will be helpful.
